Ipratropium bromide acts selectively on bronchial muscle without altering the volume or consistency of respiratory secretions. Another desirable feature is that in contrast to atropine, it does not depress mucociliary clearance by bronchial epithelium. ipratropium is more effective in COPD(chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) than in bronchial asthma. Levosalbutamol is used to abort and terminate attacks of asthma and obstructive pulmonary disease like coughing and wheezing.
